Does your son or daughter want to officiate hockey but is feeling a little “green” about the whole idea? Moorhead Youth Hockey offers a great way to initiate future referees into the game. The in-house program allows those newbies a chance to get a feel for the game in a slower-paced atmosphere, while still experiencing big game situations.
Scott Kostorhyz and his son Evan will be our in-house ref coordinators this season.
1. Kids will take an open book test
2. Ref 2 games with a mentor on the ice with them
3. Do 4 games on their own with a mentor critique
4. Get a certificate from us that will give them free registration to become a level 1 ref.
** Must be a Peewee/12U and Up player!
If you are interested in this program (which does PAY as well!) please contact Moorhead Youth Hockey 218-233-5021.
