15U B State Team Information

MN Hockey publishes a high end glossy State Tournament program featuring ALL State Tournament teams. Louis Snee (MN Hockey Marketing and Communication Mgr.) and I are asking you to complete your State Tournament roster by Monday March 8th.

I have attached the blank form and an example of a completed form for your reference. Your roster must be done in this format for the printer.

Please be sure to put the name of your team on the top of the form.

If needed we can add E-Bug goalies (form below). Please send any revised rosters by Tuesday March 9th.

Please send your completed roster and a team photo to Amanda Kutter (myha@moorheadyouthhockey.com)

Every year after our State tournaments, the Wild assemble a State Champions wall on their main concourse that stays up for a year. We are asking each team to bring an extra jersey with them. We will then collect the jersey from each of the 1st place teams and send them down to the Wild to be displayed on the Minnesota Hockey State Champion Wall.

We are also asking the winning teams to send us a team picture of the players on the ice with their 1st place trophy to: (myha@moorheadyouthhockey.com)

Playing Time Rules

I. PLAYING TIME:
1. In region and state tournament play, games for Junior Gold and younger will consist of three 15 minute periods of actual playing time. Start times shall be scheduled at one hour and 45 minute intervals (minimum). In district tournament play, games for Junior Gold and younger will consist of three 12 to 15 minute periods of actual playing time as determined by the cognizant district director.

2. Running time shall be used in district, region and state tournaments whenever a goal differential of six occurs in the 3rd period. Stop time shall resume if the goal differential becomes less than six.

3. Where running time is used in district, region or state tournaments, the clock shall not be stopped for any reason except for injuries or rink problems and only at the discretion of the referee. Penalties shall begin at the face-off immediately following the assessment of the penalty. Do not post penalties on the scoreboard unless they can be entered without stopping the clock.

J. BREAKING OF TIES:

1. For Region and State Tournament games, the following overtime format shall be used. The teams shall change goals after the third period and stay that way through all overtime periods.

a. A two minute rest, then a first sudden victory overtime period – ten minutes – five on five

b. A two minute rest, then a second sudden victory overtime period – ten minutes – five on five

c. Resurface the ice, then conduct additional ten-minute sudden victory overtime periods, as needed, five on five, with two-minute rests between periods and resurfacing after every three periods.

d. Refer to paragraph entitled “Ice Resurfacing” herein for additional resurfacing requirements. This plan of play shall continue until one team scores. If the teams remain tied after three ten-minute periods of sudden victory overtime, the tournament director, in the best interest of the tournament, has the option of suspending the game and completing it at a later time.

The tournament committee has worked with the Fargo-Moorhead CVB to contract great rates and reserve hotel room blocks for our visiting teams.

In order to keep registration fees low, we will require all traveling teams to reserve rooms via the FMCVB Housing Bureau.

All room reservations must be made through the FMCVB Online Housing System – tournament rates will not be available for reservations made directly with the hotels and those reservations will not count toward the team’s commitment.

Team Managers/Coordinators: Moorhead Youth Hockey and the Fargo-Moorhead CVB will be using EventConnect for our hotel lodging this season. Once you are registered, you will receive and email from EventConnect with instructions on how to set up your hotel. If you register your team on Friday after 12pm or over the weekend, you will NOT receive an email until the following Monday. Please also make sure you read and understand the terms of the hotel contract at which you are staying, such as cancellation notices. MYHA is not responsible for hotel contracts as you must abide by the hotel’s terms and conditions.  Please pass this information to your team so there are no surprises.

**NOTE: All teams registering on Friday May 1st will not receive an email from EventConnect until Monday May 4th.
