Tourney Worker Hour Requirements
DIBS Volunteer Hours
Moorhead Youth Hockey Association is an organization run by its volunteers including Board members, coaches, coordinators, tournament workers and many others. Volunteers are absolutely essential to maintaining and growing the Moorhead Youth Hockey Association. We are a 501C3 non-profit organization, and we depend on membership to help us have successful tournament weekends. Per the MYHA Tournament Work Policy, each family is required to work their assigned tournament weekend for each child playing in MYHA. Big Tournament weekends of membership giving back helps us keep the cost down for all hockey members. We ask each family to volunteer 10 DIBS hours per player, per season these numbers can vary depending on age of the player and # of players on the team. Each Dibs shift is a minimum of 2 hours. On average, this works out to 5 games per player that we are asking you to volunteer in the box running the clock, music and GameSheets. We have videos (below) to help you feel comfortable in doing this, as we know it can be overwhelming for some. We also have volunteer DIBS for cleaning, setting up, and other events around the rink during the season. You will be able to pick the volunteer hours that work best for you no later than one week before the tournament.
As in past seasons, we will hold your check and destroy it if you complete all volunteer shifts, or cash it if you did not complete them.
- Only checks are accepted for the Volunteer
- All Volunteer Check are due at registration.
- If we don’t receive a check your player doesn’t receive their jersey(s) for the season
Thank you for being a vital part of Moorhead Youth Hockey’s Team!

Tournament DIBS
Your team is assigned to work their own tournament if you are a Travel player. If you are an In-House (Tots & Mites) player your team is assigned a weekend. You will choose your shifts you would like to work through our DIBS system on our website no later than 1 week before your assigned tournament. We HIGHLY suggest staying within your assigned weekend so that we are properly staffed each weekend. However, if you are unable to work your weekend, please choose another one (or more than one) that works for you in order to complete your hours for the season.
If you unable to work your required scheduled weekend, you can pick up shifts on any weekend.
